walmart savings catcher review

UPDATE #2! sadly the bluebird doubling has ended :(
we can only hope they bring it back in the future.

UPDATE! i just learned you can get an american express bluebird card and DOUBLE your savings catcher rewards! it was super easy to do too. i just applied for the bluebird card (its not a credit card but kind of like a prepaid card) and they mailed it to me. i then transferred my $18 in savings catcher to the card and it doubled to $36. definitely take advantage of this offer!

OMG this is genius! everyone MUST download this app and take advantage of what walmart is offering.

simply put---shop at walmart, scan your receipt, walmart then does all the price checking for you--they actually compare their prices against all the nearby competitors printed and digital sales ads--and if someone had an item cheaper you get credited the difference! how easy is that?

truly with this technology why would you continue to scour through various ads and compare prices--walmart is doing all the work and compensating you if it could have been purchased cheaper elsewhere.

and the scanning is EASY! no taking several photos to capture the entire receipt--just scan the QR code or barcode at the bottom of the receipt--done in one shot.

now, you do have to wait a bit. all my receipts have taken about 3 full days before i received my results but i have earned money each time.

here is a recent receipt scan summary:

$1.99 back and i didn't do a thing! so far i have earned over $5 which you just transfer
to walmart e-card that can be used online and in stores.
of course, exclusions apply:

Savings Catcher does not compare the following types of offers:
  • Items that require a separate purchase to get the advertised price (example: “Buy oatmeal to get cereal for $1.”)
  • Items with no actual price that require a purchase to get a free product (example: “Buy both oatmeal & cereal to get milk for free.”)
  • Items that require a purchase to get a gift card (example: “Buy a 12 pack of paper towels to get a $5 gift card.”)
  • Buy one get one free (BOGO) deals where no item price is listed (example: Peter Pan Peanut Butter, buy one, get one free. Save up to $2.50.”)
  • Going out of business or closeout prices.
  • Percentage off (example: “All mascara, 40% off.)
  • savings catcher also DOES NOT apply to online purchases
Savings Catcher applies to many items sold at Walmart stores. This includes:
  • Most groceries such as cereal, rice and most fruits and vegetables except for: store brand items, deli, bakery and weighed items like meat.
  • Consumable items such as paper towels, bleach and trash bags.
  • Health and beauty items such as shampoo and makeup.
  • Select general merchandise items.
  • --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
also note, this is only good on IN STORE purchases.
curiously, almost 90% of my price matches are for target although walmart says it scans about 90 nearby retailers. for me, i love the convenience and the fact that i feel walmart is doing all the legwork.
check it out now and start saving money!
